an object is moving in a circle of radius 3 cm with O as center. it starts from A . calculate the distance and displacement when it completes half the circle and when it completes one full circle.​

ANSWER :

radius , r = 3 cm

perimeter of circle = 2 πr

perimeter of this circle = 2π3 = 6π = 6 × 3.14 = 18.84 cm

half the circle :

distance when it completed the half the circle = 18.84/2 = 9.42 cm

displacement is the straight distance .

in this situation displacement = diameter

because the half the circle

displacement = 3 × 2 = 6 cm

full circle :

distance travelled = perimeter of circle = 18.84 cm

displacement = 0

because it reached at starting point .
