The displacement is the shortest path length between intial and final point.

After travelling half the circle,

The displacement = diameter

Answer:

The displacement after half a circle would be = Diameter of the circle

while the distance covered would be

Explanation:

It is obvious that after covering half distance the displacement would be equal to the distance between initial and final point which would be equal to the diameter of that circle ( after half journey).

While the distance can be calculated by the relation .:

distance = circumference = 2\pi \: r

hence the half distance would equal to

 \frac{2\pi \: r}{2}  = 2\pi
