Explanation:

here,

initial velocity U = 20m/s

time = 10 second

acceleration = 2 m/s^2

S = ut + 1/2 a t^2

putting value,

S= (20*10) + 1/2 * 2 * (10)^2

S= 200 + 100

S = 300 metre

Distance covered by it in 10 second = 300 metre.

Given:

  • Intial velocity, u = 20 m/s

  • Time taken ,t = 10 sec

  • Acceleration, a = 2 m/s²

To be calculated:

Calculate the distance covered by a body ?

Formula used:

s = ut + ½ at²

Solution:

We know that,

s = ut + ½ at²

Now,

Putting the values in the second equation of motion,

we get:

s = 20 × 10 + 1/2 × 2 × ( 10 )²

s = 200 + 1 × 100

s = 200 + 100

s = 300 m

Thus, the distance covered by given body or object in 10 seconds is 300 m.

Additional information:

Equation of uniformly accelerated motion

  • First equation of motion: v = u + a

  • Second equation of motion: s = ut + ½

at²

  • Third equation of motion: v² = u² + 2as
