Since,the circumference of the circle=2πr units
Therefore half the circumference of the circle is (2πr)/2=πr units
Therefore the distance travelled in first case is πr units
And the displacement,perpendicular distance,is diameter or 2r units due right or left depending upon from where it started
In case two,
Distance is full circle,i.e. full circumference, = 2πr units
And the displacement is 0 since the object's starting and ending points are the same.
