Answer:u = 6m/s

v=0m/s

a=-1m/s*2

Using equation

v*2-u*2=2as

0-36=2 (-1)s

By solving we get s=18m

Answer:

18 m

Explanation:

Let's get the data given in question(only numerical values.)

Final velocity (v) = 0

initial velocity (u) = 6

acceleration (a) = -1 (here no need to take '-1' because '-' just indicates that the                              velocity is decreasing. But you can take it for now)

distance (s) = ?

We have a formula when final velocity, initial velocity, acceleration and distance are included :-

v² - u² = 2as

(0)² - (6)² 2 (-1) (s)

-36 = -2s

s = -36/-2

s = 18

Therefore, the object travelled 18m before coming to rest.
