The correct answer is 7 m/sec towards left.

Given: Velocity of object = 3 m/sec.

Velocity of mirror = 2 m/sec.

To Find: Velocity of image.

Solution:

Take Right side as positive and left side as negative.

Velocity of object = (V_{o})= +3 m/sec.

Velocity of mirror = (V_{m}) =-2 m/sec.

Velocity of object with respect to mirror V_{om}.

V_{om} =V_{o} -V_{m}

V_{om} =3-(-2)

V_{om} =5 m/sec.

Velocity of image with respect to mirror.

V_{im} =V_{i} -V_{m}

V_{i} =V_{im} +V_{m}

If velocity of object with respect to mirror is +5 m/sec then the velocity of image with respect to mirror should be its opposite that is -5 m/sec.

V_{i} =-5+(-2)

V_{i} =-7 m/sec

Hence, velocity of image is 7 m/sec towards left.
