GIVEN:-

u = -15cm

r = 40cm

=> f = r/2 = 20cm

                                                                   

TO FIND - Image Distance (v)

                                                                     

Using mirror formula, we get

\frac{1}{v} + \frac{1}{u} = \frac{1}{f}

\frac{1}{v} = [tex]\frac{1}{f} -  \frac{1}{u}

Substituting the values, we get,

\frac{1}{v} =  \frac{1}{20} -  \frac{1}{-15}

\frac{1}{v} =  \frac{3+4}{60}

v = 60/7

v = 8.57cm
