An object is placed 20cm. distance from the optical center of a convex lens. the focal length of the lens is 30cm. then caluculate the object distance and mention the characteristics of the image formed ?
please help somebody

Hello
I think you got the question wrong as the object distance is given, we should find image distance
Given:
Object distance(u) = 20
Focal length(f) = 30
Formula:
1/f = 1/v - 1/u
Solution:
1/f = 1/v - 1/u
1/v = 1/f +1/u
1/v =1/30 + 1/20
1/v = 2+3/60
1/v = 5/60
V = 60/5
V = 12 cm
Conclusion:
The image distance is 12 cm.
The image is Real and inverted.
That’s it mate
Thank you
Hope it helps!

given object distance=-20cm
focal length of a convex lens=30cm
1/f=1/v-1/u
1/v=1/f+1/u
1/v=1/30+1/-20
1/v=1/30-1/20
1/v=2/60-3/60
1/v=2-3/60
1/v=-1/60
v=-60 cm
as the object is placed between the focus "f1" and optic center "o" the image formed will be enlarged, virtual, erect and the image will be formed on the lens as the object.....
Hope you Understand. :) :)
