Answer:

These types of problems can all be solved using the lens (or mirror) equation.

1/20 +1/q= 1/10

q=30 cm

The image is formed behind the lens at 2f or the center of curvature.

It is real, inverted, and the same size as the object

Given

  • An object isis placed at 20 cm in concave Len's
  • u=-20
  • Focal length is -30

To find

  • Distance of imageV=?

Solution

From mirror formula

\boxed{\boxed{\sf\red{\frac{1}{F}=\frac{1}{V}-\frac{1}{u}}}}

Putting the values

1/-30=1/v-(-1/20)

1/30=1/v+(1/20)

1/v=-1/30-1/20

1/v =-5/60

v= -12

Additional information the image is small
