object distance, u = -20 cm

focal length, f = - 25 cm

using formula, 1/v + 1/u = 1/f

⇒1/v + 1/-20 = 1/-25

⇒1/v = 1/20 - 1/25 = (25 - 20)/500

⇒1/v = 5/500 = 1/100

⇒v = 100cm

now magnification = -v/u

= -100/(-20) = 5
