An object is placed 24 cm from a concave mirror if image is inverted and the double size of the object find the focal length of the mirror and the position where the image is formed .

v = 2u (given)
= 2 × -24
v = - 48
The position of image is 48 cm in front of mirror (or in the left side of mirror)
1/v+1/u = 1/f
1/f = 1/-48 + 1/-24
= -1/48 - 1/24
= - 1-2/48
= -3/48
= -1/16
f = -16
