Hello mate..

Question:

An object is placed 30cm infront of a concave mirror of focal length 10cm. Calculate the distance of its image.

Answer:

Given,

f =  - 10cm. \\ u =  - 30cm. \\ v =  \: ?

Solution:

 \frac{1}{f}  =  \frac{1}{u}  +  \frac{1}{v}  \\   - \frac{1}{10}  =  \frac{1}{ - 30}  +  \frac{1}{v}  \\ -   \frac {1}{10}   +  \frac{1}{30}  =  \frac{1}{v}

 \frac{ - 3+ 1}{30}  =  \frac{1}{v}  \\  -  \frac { 2}{  30}  =  \frac{ 1}{v} \\  \frac{1}{ - 15}  =  \frac{1}{v}

v  =  - 15

Therefore, the distance of the image from the mirror is -15.

HOPE THIS HELPS YOU..
