✒Since focal length of concave mirror given is 20cm l. Object is at 40cm distance which means it is at centre of curvature. hence, image will be formed of same size and at centre focus only but real and inverted.

✒An object is placed at a distance of 40 cm from a concave mirror of focal length 15 cm. If the object is displaced through a distance of 20 cm towards the mirror, the displacement of the image will be. 30 cm away from the mirror.

Given that,

  1. An object is placed 40 cm in front of convex mirror of radius of curvature 20 cm .The image is

Solution:-

u = -40cm ,R = 20 cm.

f = R/2=20/2 = 10 cm.

Mirror formula:- 1/f=1/u+1/v

= 1/f= 1/-40 +1/v

= 1/10 +1/40=1/v

= [ 4+1 /40 ] =1/v

= 1/v = 5/40

= 1/v = 1/8

= v = 8cm
