by the way you find focal length
and then use the formula of lens= 1/v-1/u=1/f

I m writing a short cut....
-4 = 1/ f
Therefore f= 1/-4
1/v - 1/u = 1/f
1/ 10 - 1/u = 1/ -4
1/10 + 1/4 = 1/u
2+5/20
7/20 = 1/u
u = 20/7
= 2.85
Probably this is the ans
