The distance of image from the lens will be f/2.
An object is placed at a distance f/3 from a convex lens.
We have to find the distance of image from the lens.
Concepts :
- A convex lens converges a parallel beam of light. That's the reason to call it converging lens.
- A convex lens is thicker at the center and get thinner as we move towards the edge of it.
- It is used in microscopes, magnifying glasses , correction of hypermetropia , camera lens in cameras etc..
- focal length of convex lens is taken as positive.
Here, object distance, u = -f/3
focal length = +f
using lens formula,
Therefore the distance of image from the lens will be f/2.
