Given, u = - 10 cm ; f = 15 cm ; v = ?

1/f = 1/v + 1/u

1/15 = 1/v + 1/-10

1/v = 1/15 + 1/10

1/v = 2+3/30 = 5/30

v = 30/5 = 6 cm

So the image is virtual and seen in the mirror.

Answer:

+ 6 cm

Explanation:

Given :

Object distance = - 10 cm

Focal length = + 15 cm

We have to find image distance.

We know :

1 / f = 1 / v + 1 / u

1 / v = 1 / f - 1 / u

1 / v = 1 / 15 + 1 / 10

1 / v = 1 / 6

v = + 6 cm

Hence .image distance is 6 cm from the mirror behind it.

The image is erect and virtual.
