Given that:

u = – 10 cm

f = + 15 cm

⠀⠀

Where u means object distance and f means focal length of the convex mirror.

⠀⠀

To find:

⠀⠀

Nature and position of the object.

⠀⠀

Solution:

⠀⠀

⠀⠀

Now using mirror formula, we will find v.

⠀⠀⠀⠀

\begin{gathered}\begin{gathered} \\ \\ : \implies \displaystyle  \frac{1}{f}  =  \frac{1}{v}  +  \frac{1}{u} \\ \\    \end{gathered} \end{gathered}

where f is focal length, u is object distance and v is image distance.

⠀⠀

Now we know that, magnification = image distance/object distance

⠀⠀

m = –v/u

⠀⠀

= –6/–10 = 0.6

⠀⠀

Since the magnification is positive and less than one, the image is erect and diminished and the positive sign indicates that the image is virtual.

⠀⠀

So, image formed is an erect, virtual and diminished image which is formed behind the mirror.

⠀⠀

Position of tme image is behind the mirror.
