Answer:

Here,u=10cm=-10cm

f=12cm

v=?

Now, by using lens formula, we get

1/v-1/u=1/f

1/v-1/-10=1/12

1/v+1/10=1/12

1/v=1/12-1/10

1/v=10-12/120

1/v=-2/120

1/v=-1/60

v=-60cm

Image is real and inverted.

hope it helps u....

\Large{\underline{\underline{\mathfrak{\red{\bf{Solution}}}}}}

\Large{\underline{\mathfrak{\orange{\bf{Given}}}}}

  • u = -10 cm
  • f = 12 cm

\Large{\underline{\mathfrak{\orange{\bf{Find}}}}}

  • position of image (v)

\Large{\underline{\underline{\mathfrak{\red{\bf{Explanation}}}}}}

We Know, lens Formula.

\small{\boxed{\boxed{\tt{\orange{\:\frac{1}{f}\:=\:\frac{1}{v}\:-\:\frac{1}{u}}}}}}

Keep all above values

➡ 1/12 = 1/v - 1/(-10)

➡ 1/v = 1/12 - 1/10

➡ 1/v = (5-6)/60

➡ 1/v = -1/60

Or

➡v = -60

\Large{\underline{\underline{\mathfrak{\red{\bf{Hence}}}}}}

  • Image formed behind the mirror at a distance 60 cm
  • Image is virtual magnified beyond 2F
