hope this helps u

given :-

  • u = -15 cm
  • 2f or  r = 10cm
  • v?
  • nature of image ?

solution

2f = 10

f = 10/2

f = 5cm

1/f = 1/v+1/u

1/v= 1/f-1/u

      = 1/5 - (-1/15)

           = 1/5 + 1/15

            = 3+1/15

1/v = 4/15

15/4v = o

v = 15/4

v = 3.75cm

as we know v is positive  the image is virtual and erect image

we know that convex can produce only erect image

Answer:

v (image distance) = 3.75 cm

Explanation:

u = -15 cm; R = 10 cm

Since, R=2 (focal length)

therefore, f = R/2 = 10/2 = 5 cm

now, 1/f = 1/v + 1/u

therefore, 1/v = 1/f - 1/u

therefore, 1/v = 1/5 - 1/(-15)

therefore, 1/v = 1/5 + 1/15

therefore, 1/v = (3 + 1)/15

therefore, 1/v = 4/15

therefore, v = 15/4

therefore, v = 3.75 cm
