An object is placed at a distance of 24 cm in front of a spherical mirror of magnification +1/3.
What is the distance of the image from the mirror. Also find the nature of the mirror.​

Given that; Object distance (u) = -24cm; Image distance (v) = -12cm (image is in front of mirror hence v is negative). Now; Magnification = - vuvu ⇒ Magnification = - −12−24−12−24 = - 1212 ∴ Magnification is -0.5. Which tells that image is real and inverted and half of the size of the object.
