Answer:

given

u= -60cm

f=15cm

by using lens formula

1/f=1/v - 1/u

1/15= 1/v +60

1/v = 1/15 - 1/60

v = 20 cm

by using magnification formula

m= v/u

m=20/-60

m = -1/3 cm ans

Given:

f = 15 cm

u = -60 cm

To Find:

Magnification of lens, m = ?

Solution:

By using Lens formula, we get

⇒  \frac{1}{f} =\frac{1}{v} -\frac{1}{u}

On putting the estimated values, we get

⇒  \frac{1}{15} =\frac{1}{v} +\frac{1}{60}

⇒  \frac{1}{v} =\frac{1}{15} -\frac{1}{60}

⇒  v=20 \ cm

Now,

Magnification,

⇒  m=\frac{v}{u}

⇒      =-\frac{20}{60}

⇒      =-\frac{1}{3} \ cm

So that the Len's magnification will be "-1/3 cm".
