An object is placed in front of the convexmirror at distance 30 cm from the pole. Radius of curvature is 10 cm . Find the nature, position and size of the image.

Given, 

Radius of curvature, R=40cm

Object distance, u=30cm

Object height, ho=3cm

The focal length of the mirror=f=−2R

=−20cm

From mirror equation,

v1+u1=f1

⟹v1+−301=−201

⟹v=−60cm

The magnification, M=u−v

=−−30−60

=−2

Hence the image is inverted, enlarged, real and its size is 2×3cm=6cm
