Given, radius of curvature  = 20 \: cm

Image distance  = 8 \: cm

We know,

Focal  \:  \: length = \frac{Radius  \: of  \: curvature }{2}  =  \frac{20}{2}  = 10 \: cm

Again,

 \frac{1}{u}  +  \frac{1}{v}  =  \frac{1}{f}

u= Object \:  \:  distance,v= Image \:  \:  distance ,f=Focal  \:  \: length

Now,

 \frac{1}{u}   +  \frac{1}{8}  =  \frac{1}{10}

 \frac{1}{u}  =  \frac{1}{10}  -  \frac{1}{8}  =  \frac{4 - 5}{40}  =  \frac{ - 1}{40}

u =  - 40

Required image distance is -40 cm.
