An Object is placed on the Principle axis of a convex mirror at a distance of 60cm in front of it. A plane mirror is inserted between the object and the convex mirror at a distance of 40cm from the object with the reflecting surface of the plane mirror facing the object. If the images formed by the two mirrors consite. Find Focal length of the convex mirror.

Plane mirror forms an image at a distance of 40 cm behind it. That means 20 cm behind the convex mirror.  Because the distance between the plane mirror and the convex mirror is 60 - 40 = 20 cm.

Mirror equation:   1/v + 1/u = 1/f
1/20 + 1/(-60) = 1/f
So   f = 30 cm
