The distance of object from lens is 30cm. Find the magnification and nature of the image formed

Given that - F = 20 cm

U = - 30 Cm

V = ???

M = ???

By Lens formula ,

1 / F = 1 / V - 1 / U

1 / 20 = 1 / V - ( 1 / - 30 )

1 / 20 = 1 / V + 1 / 30

1 / V = 1 / 20 - 1 / 30

1 / V = ( 3 - 2 ) / 60 = 1 / 60

V = 60 cm

M = V / U = 60 / - 30 = - 2
