An object is pushed with a rod . The objects start moving is this force a contact or non contact force ? Explain

The contact force takes place because it is a force exerted close to the object and in direct contact. So in the above situation the object is pushed with a rod.So rod is in direct contact with the object.Hence , contact force takes place.
