From \:  \:  lens \:  \:  formula \:  \:  we  \:  \: get \:  \frac{1}{f}   =  \frac{1}{v }  -  \frac{1}{u}

 \frac{1}{f}  +  \frac{1}{u}  =  \frac{1}{v}

Now \: object \: distance \: from \: optic \: centre= \: 10cm \\ \frac{1}{v}   =  \frac{1}{10}  +  \frac{1}{8} </p><p> \\  \\ v =  - 40cm \\ </p><p>

Since, ve sign the image will form in front of the lens and will virtual, enlarge and erect.
