When the object is placed between F1 and O of a convex lens, a highly magnified image is formed. The image is virtual and erect in nature and is formed in front of the lens.
The required ray diagram is in the attachment.
Rules for image formation for a convex lens
- A ray of light parallel to the principal axis passes through the real focus after refraction
- A ray of light passing through the optical center goes straight without any bending or refraction.
- A ray of light passing through the focus becomes parallel to the principal axis after refraction by the lens.
In this case, I'd be using rules 1 and 2 as rule 3 is not applicable here.
