The equation to be followed is :S = ut + ½ ft2…………………………………1.

First, we need to solve for t when the ball is X ft above the ground on its way up.

To do this, u=3 m/sec,

time t = 5 sec and we have to solve for S.

solve for t:V=u + ft,

here, u=0 V=3 m/sec ,

so, 3=0+fx5   so, f=3/5=0.6 m/sec2.

Putting the values in eqn.

S = 3x5–½ 0.6 x 5^2   =15-7.5= 7.5 m

It was thrown at a height of 7.5 m………Answer
