now velocity of an object is 3m/s

height=?

now object is thrown upwards

therefore

g = - 10ms^{ - 2} (approx) \\ u = 3 m {s}^{ - 1} \\ v = 0m {s}^{ - 1} \\ therefore \\ {v}^{2} - {u}^{2} = 2gs \\ {0}^{2} - {3}^{2} = 2 \times ( - 10) \times s \\ - 9 = - 20 \times s \\ s = \frac{9}{20} m = 2.22m
