Finding height using,

H = /2g

Where

  • H → Height = ?
  • u → initial velocity = 30 m/s
  • g → acceleration due to gravity = - 10 m/s²

Substituting the values we have ,

⇒ H = 30²/2(10)

⇒ H = 900/20

⇒ H = 90/2

H = 45 m

Hence , height attained by the object = 45 m

H = /2g

Deriving the given formula using the second equation of motion.

- = - 2gh

Here , the final velocity will be zero because the object will go upward , stops there only for some time and comes back . So , final Velocity will be zero

Simplifying

➩ 0² - u² = - 2gH

➩ - u² = - 2gH

➩ u² = 2gH

H = /2g

Hence , derived !

Given : An object is thrown vertically upward velocity 30 m/s.

To find : What is the height attain by the object if the acceleration due to gravity is 10 m/s².

Solution : We can solve this question by applying “Height formula” in Physics.

Formula :

★ Height = Initial velocity²/2 Gravitational acceleration.

        Or

★ H = u²/2 g.

Calculations :

:\implies\sf{Height = \dfrac{30^{2}}{2 \times 10}}

:\implies\sf{Height = \dfrac{900}{20}}

:\implies{\sf{\underline{\boxed{\sf{Height = 45 \: m}}}}}

Therefore, 45 m is the height attained by the object.
