. An object is thrown vertically upwards and rises to a height of 10m. Calculate :-

(i) The velocity with which the object was thrown upwards

(ii) How much time will it take to reach the highest point.​

Distance travelled, s = 10 m

Final velocity, v = 0 m/s

g = -9.8 m/s²

1) Using,

v²−u²=2gs

u²=196

u=14m/s, where u is the velocity with which the object is thrown upwards.

2) Using,

v=u+gt

t=v−u/g

=1.43 sec
