●This type of numerical has the following working formula:-

average \: speed =  \frac{total \: distance \: }{total \: time \: taken}

Average speed gives us the rate at which an object travels.

Q1. What is it's significance?

answer➡️It helps to determine the speed for those objects which tend to travel at different speeds at different intervals of time like train or car.

●Total distance travelled = 16m + 16m =32m

●Total time taken = 4 sec + 2 sec = 6 sec

✍So applying the working formula,

Average speed = (32 ÷ 6 ) m/s = 5.33 m/s, which is the required answer .
