An Object moves from A to D along a rectangular path as shown in the above picture. Find:
i} The distance covered by the object.
ii} The displacement of the object.

Please anyone Give the Answer as soon as possible!!

Distance = 32 m

Displacement = 0 m

Explanation

i ) Distance covered by the object

From the fig. distance covered by the object [ A -> D ] is equals to the perimeter of the rectangle .

⇒ Distance = Perimeter of rectangle [ AB + BC + CD + DA ]

⇒ Distance = 2 ( l + b )

⇒ Distance = 2 ( 10 + 6 )

⇒ Distance = 2 ( 16 )

Distance = 32 m

So , distance covered by the object is equals to 32 m

ii ) Displacement of the object

Since the object arrives to it's initial position , so the displacement is zero .
