Explanation:

Distance = Length of path travelled

=AB+BC

=15+9

=24km

Displacement = Shortest path from initial to final position

=AC

=

(AB)

2

+(BC)

{Pythagoras Theorem}

=

225+81

=17.5km

Answer:

if we take assume a rectangular path of ABCD and let distance between A to B be 2km and B to C 1km as it is rectangular path than A to D distance will be 1km and D to C 2km if the objects follows the path ABC and then reaches D the total distance would be 5km because ; distance = total distance covered,

and if it reached D point just from A then displacement will be 1km as..displacement = distance between final point - initial point.
