QUESTION:

An object moving along a straight line at 12 m/s and undergoes an acceleration of 9 m/s². What will the speed after 4 seconds?

SOLUTION:

Acceleration of moving object= 9 m/s²

Initial velocity= 12 m/s

Time taken=2 seconds

By applying the 1 st equation of motion we get,

v= u+at

= 12+4(9)

= 12+36

= 48 m/s

Therefore the speed after 4 seconds= 48 m/s
