An object moving with a velocity of 30m/s undergoes uniform acceleration of 10m/s2 . Calculate the distance travelled in 3s.

s = 135 m

Explanation:

u = 30 m/s   a = 10 m/s^2  t = 3s   s = ?

Using,

s = ut + (1/2) at^2

s = 30(3) + (1/2) (10) (3^2)

  = 90 + (10 x 9)/2

  = 90 + (5 x 9)

  = 90 + 45

s = 135 m
