Given :-
- An object of 10cm height is placed at a distance of 10cm from a convex mirror.
- The radius of curvature of the mirror is 30cm.
To Find :-
The position, height and nature of its image.
Solution :-
According to the question, we have a Convex mirror .
⭐ A convex mirror is a spherical reflecting mirror in which its bulging side faces the source of light.
We have,
- Focal Length (f) = R/2 = 30/2 = 15cm
- Initial distance (u) = -10cm
- Hieght (h) = 10 cm
Using mirror Formula,
1/f = 1/u + 1/v
=> 1/v = 1/f -1/u
=>1/v = 1/15+1/10
=> 1/v = 25/150
=> v = 6 cm
↗ The image formed at focus between the pole & focus .
Using formula of magnification ,
m = -(v/u) = (h'/h)
m = -(-6/10)
m = 3/5
↗ The nature of image will be virtual , erect and diminished.
Using mirror Formula for hieght
m = h'/h
=> 3/5 = h'/10
=> h' = 3×10/5
=> h' = 30/5
=> h' = 6
=> h' = 6cm
↗ The size of image will be 6 cm .
