Given:

Height of the object (h) = 2 cm

Distance of the object from the concave mirror (u) = -12 cm

Height of the image (h') = -4 cm

To find:

The distance of the image (v) from the concave lens.

Solution:

We know that the formula for magnification can be written as:

m= h'/h or m= -v/u

Hence h'/h = -v/u

v = -u × h' /h

= -(-12) × (-4)/2

= -24 cm

Thus the distance of the image from the concave lens is -24 cm.
