Given:-

  • Object height ,hi = 3cm

  • Object distance , u= -8cm

  • Image height ,ho = 4cm

To Calculate :-

  • Focal length of mirror (f).

Solution:-

As we know that

Magnification ,m = hi/ho = -v/u

Substitute the value we get

→ 3/4 = -v/(-8)

→ 3/4 = v/8

→ v = 3×8/4

→ v = 24/4

→ v = 6 cm

Now using Mirror Formula

→ 1/v +1/u = 1/f

Substitute the value we get

→ 1/6 + 1(-8) = 1/f

→ 1/6 - 1/8 = 1/f

→ 4-3/24 = 1/f

→ 1/24 = 1/f

→ 1/f = 1/24

→ f = 24cm

. The Focal length of the mirror is 24cm.
