The nature of image is virtual and upright. The magnification of image is -0.75

Explanation:

  • Object size , u = -5 cm
  • Focal length , f = -15 cm
  • Image distance = 3 cm

v =?

Mirror formula:

1/v + 1/u = 1/f

1/v = 1/u - 1/f

1/v = -1/5 - (1/-15)

1/v = 1/5 + /15

1/v = -4/15

v = -15/4

v = -3.75

Magnification = - v / u

Magnification = 3.75 / -5

Magnification = - 0.75

The nature of image is virtual and upright.
