Change in velocity= 10-0 =10 m/s
acceleration = change in velocity/time taken =10/5= 2 m/s^2
Force applied=mass*acceleration = 50* 2= 100 N

hope this helps!

a =  \frac{(v - u)}{t}
 =  \frac{10 -0 }{5}
 = 2 \frac{m}{ {s}^{2} }
f = ma
 = 50 \times 2
 = 100 \: newton
force applied by the engine = 100 N
