• An object of height 2 cm is placed at a distance of 60 cm before a concave lens of focal length 20 cm. How do you find the position of the object and the height of the image?

Given-:

height of object = 2cms

object distance = 60 cms = u

focal length = 20 cms

therefore, radius of curvature = 2f =2(20) =40 cms

so the object is placed beyond center of curvature.

height of image can be found out by the formula

hi/ho = v/u

to find 'v' use the lens formula.

we get the height of image as 0.5 cms
