Solution :
Given,
The lens is a convex lens.
Height of object = H(o) = (+)4 cm
Distance of the object from the lens = u = (-)20 cm
Focal lenght of the lens = f = (+)10 cm
We have to find, position of the image so formed.
But, distance of the image from the lens = v = ?
From the lens formula,
1/v - 1/u = 1/f
1/v - 1/(-20) = 1/10
1/v + 1/20 = 1/10
1/v = 1/10 - 1/20
1/v = (2 - 1)/20
1/v = 1/20
v = (+)20

Positive sign shows that the image is formed at the right side of the lens.
Since, distance of the object and the image formed is equal
