h=5 cm

u=30cm= -30 cm

f=20cm

according to the lens formula ;

1/f=1/v-1/u

so,

1/20 = 1/v - 1/-30

1/20 = 1/v + 1/30

1/20 - 1/30 = 1/v

3-2/60=1/v

1/60=1/v

so,

v=60 (image distance)

(ii) m=h'/h=v/u

    h'/5=60/-30

    h'/5= -2

    h'= -10

The image formed is real and inverted and is diminished.
