Answer :

Height of object = 5cm

Distance of object = 1cm

Focal length = 15cm

Type of mirror : Convex

We have to find position, nature and size of image.

Focal length of convex mirror is taken positive and that for concave mirror is taken negative.

Position of image :

➝ 1/u + 1/v = 1/f

➝ 1/(-1) + 1/v = 1/15

➝ 1/v = 1/15 + 1

➝ 1/v = (1 + 15)/15

➝ v = 15/16

v = 0.94cm

Size of image :

➝ m = -v/u = h'/h

➝ -0.94/-1 = h'/5

➝ h' = 0.94 × 5

h' = 4.7cm

Nature of image :

  • Virtual
  • Erect
  • Small
