We know that height is h = 6 cm, focal length f = -12 cm, distance of object u = - 12 cm

1/v = 1/u + 1/f  

1/v = 1/-12 + 1/-12

1/v = - 1/6

v = -6

hence image is formed at a distance of 6 cm at the left side of the lens.

Now m = v/u

m = - 6/- 12

m =  1/2

height of image is m x height of object

    = 1/2 x 6

So h = 3 cm

So image is virtual and erect.
