Explanation:

Given

 Size of the object [o] = +7cm

  F = -18cm

  U= -27cm

 V = ?

 1/f = 1/v+1/u

 1/-18cm = 1/v-1/27

  1/v= -1/54 v = -54cm

Since Vis – ve screen should be placed at 54cm in front of the mirror.

Size of the image : m= I/O= -v/u I/7=-[54/27] I= -14cm

Nature of the image : image is real , inverted and magnified.

Dear Student,

● Answer -

Position = -54 cm

Nature = magnified, real and inverted

◆ Explaination -

Diverging mirror is convex mirror

# Given -

h1 = 7 cm

u = -27 cm

f = -18 cm

# Solution -

Applying mirror formula -

1/f = 1/u + 1/v

1/-18 = 1/-27 + 1/v

1/v = -1/18 + 1/27

1/v = -3/54 + 2/54

1/v = -1/54

v = -54 cm

Now, magnification ia given by -

M = h2/h1 = -v/u

h2 = -v/u × h1

h2 = -(-54)/-27 × 7

h2 = -14 cm

Therefore, image is formed at -54 cm from the mirror and is magnified, real and inverted in nature.

Thanks dear. Hope this helps you...
