Given:-

  • Height of object , ho = +2cm

  • Object - distance , u = -30cm

  • Radius of curvature ,R = 50cm

To Find:-

  • Position of image & nature and size

Solution:-

As we know that the relationship radius of curvature and focal length is

• F = R/2

Substitute the value we get

→ f = 50/2

→ f = 25 cm

Now using mirror formula

• 1/v +1/u = 1/f

Substitute the value we get

→ 1/v = 1/f -1/u

→ 1/v = 1/25 - 1/(-30)

→ 1/v = 1/25 + 1/30

→ 1/v = 6-5/150

→ 1/v = 1/150

→ v = +150 cm

The image distance is 150 cm .

Positive sign show that the image is formed behind the mirror and the image formed is erect.

Now ,

• magnification ,m = -v/u = hi/ho

→ -150/-30 = hi/2

→ hi = -150 ×2/-30

→ hi = 150×2/30

→ hi = 5×2

→ hi = 10cm

The height of image is 10cm.

The image formed is bigger than the object.
