Given :

• Mass of an object = 10 kg

• Initial velocity of the object = 5 m/s

• Final velocity of the object = 10 m/s

• Time = 5 seconds

To find :

• Change in momentum for the object

Solution :

Formula to calculate change in momentum :-

  • p = m(v - u)

where,

• p denotes the change in momentum

• m denotes the mass of the object

• v denotes the final velocity

• u denotes the initial velocity

we have,

• m = 10 kg

• v = 10 m/s

• u = 5 m/s

Note :- Tme is mentioned in the question but there is no use of it.

Substituting the given values :-

→ Change in momentum = 10(10 - 5)

→ Change in momentum = 10(5)

→ Change in momentum = 50

Therefore, change in momentum = 50 N s
